We’re dedicated to giving you the best in lifestyle, traveling, and parenting tips. For the longest time, I have wanted to work on my self-growth. For a long time, I have had a negative mindset. I always come up with excuses as to why I can’t do something or why I can’t make friends or why I am a terrible mother.

My life needs to change. It’s time for me to change. It’s time for you to change if you’re in the same boat as I am. No more excuses on why you can’t do something. No more negative self-talk. You are better than that.

About The Alternative South

Welcome to The Alternative South. We are a lifestyle blog that will be focusing on a few different topics. We started this blog because we wanted to work on self-growth and be able to help others as well. For the longest time, we have been overwhelmed by depression and anxiety just like many of you who are reading this.

On top of self-improvement, we will be talking about Georgia, travel, and a little bit of parenting. I know a lot of people who are out there struggling and have no one to talk to. Here we will be creating a community of like-minded people who just want to improve their lives.

So, why did we name this blog The Alternative South? Well, I came up with the name because I live in Georgia. I want others to realize that there is a lot more to Georgia than just Atlanta. There are a lot of fun things to do here in south Georgia that so many people are missing out on. But since I’m not your typical southern girl I wanted to add alternative to the name. Because you know what I have always been a little “alternative” by the south’s standards.

Growing up down here I have always felt alone because I felt a little different from everyone. I wasn’t your typical friendly southern girl. Don’t get me wrong I was friendly to people but I never wanted to be touched by anyone I didn’t know. On top of that, I dressed like what people would consider a devil worshiper because I enjoyed horror. It is my mission for things like that to change.

The south is changing and so are its people. Films are starting to come down here and film major motion pictures and there are a lot of cool places to go and visit.

The Alternative south is a new blog that started in September 2022. This is a blog for growth and for positivity. I hope you’re able to join in on my journey to self-growth as well.
